Your initial appointment - to find out if we can help
On your first visit we will sit down with you and discuss your current health situation to assess whether you are a good candidate for chiropractic care, or if not, help you to determine who the right person is to help you. If we think we can help you, we will conduct a thorough examination to determine how we can best care for you. All of the testing should be comfortable, and will include looking at how you hold your body (posture), how you move your body (range of movement), how well your body is functioning eg balance testing, muscle activation and tendon reflexes. This information helps us identify the cause or causes of your problem. Sometimes, depending on your condition and the results of our tests, we may refer for x-rays or occasionally other imaging (not performed on pregnant women, and are typically not required with children). Please bring copies of any recent imaging with you to this visit. You should allow 40 minutes for your first visit. Your report of findings appointment – we’ll tell you what we found, answer all your questions and begin care. During your second visit, we will go through what we have found, what we can do to help, how long it may take and how much it will cost. Care can then begin. |
You should allow 30 minutes for your second visit.
Standard Consultations
Standard consultations will be much shorter, but are just as important!
We will discuss any changes you have noticed and repeat a few important tests to continue to monitor your improvement, and give you an adjustment.
Adjustments are gentle inputs to the spine, skull or other joints in the body, (as indicated), and are performed differently depending on your age and type of problem. Soft tissues releases, exercises or stretches may also be performed or prescribed.
Most standard consultations will only take about 5-10 minutes. We respect your time and in most cases will see you at or very close to your scheduled appointment time.
