In today’s world, our smartphones, tablets, and laptops keep us connected, productive, and entertained but they may also be taking a silent toll on our spinal health. With most of us spending hours each day hunched over screens, it’s no surprise that more people are experiencing pain and tension in the neck, shoulders, and upper back.
That’s why, from 26 May to 1 June, Inborn Vitality is proud to support Spinal Health Week 2025, an initiative by the Australian Chiropractors Association. This year’s focus—”Heads Up on Tech Neck”—shines a light on the growing spinal health challenges linked to modern technology use. Tech Neck, also known as Tension Neck Syndrome, is becoming increasingly common in people of all ages, and if left unaddressed, it can impact everything from posture to productivity and mental wellbeing. But there’s good news, Tech Neck is both preventable and manageable with the right support and simple lifestyle shifts.
How to Prevent Tech Neck
Small adjustments to your daily routine can make a big difference. Here are tips to help prevent tech neck:
- Sit upright with feet flat and shoulders relaxed
- Hold devices at eye level
- Limit screen time, especially outside work or school
- Use both hands when typing or scrolling
- Take regular stretch breaks
- Set up your workstation ergonomically
- Stay active and keep moving daily
- Book a chiropractic check to stay on track
Your spine is designed to support your entire body, so let’s support it in return. Whether you’re already experiencing symptoms of tech neck or simply want to safeguard your spinal health as your lifestyle evolves, we’re here to help. At Inborn Vitality, we take pride in caring for you with warmth, understanding, and a whole-body approach that puts your wellbeing first.
